It’s a Girl!
Last night we were given new names: mom and dad. In the late evening on Tuesday, February 3rd (just over 24 hours ago), we welcomed into the world our first newborn child, and discovered the surprise that had been growing in Kristy’s womb for so long: A beautiful redheaded girl!
Both mother and daughter are healthy, strong, and are recovering well. If all goes smoothly over the next 12 hours, we will have the ridiculously awesome, freakishly grown-up privilege of taking her home with us. It’s wonderful and frightening at the same time. Although we remain slightly occupied, we are hoping to provide you with more than just words on how precious and lovely she is.
Until then let me provide you with the following details:
Her name is Grace Odelle VanAlstyne
She was born on February 3rd, at 10pm sharp.
(Trivia: Feb. 3rd was her anticipated due date, and also her Mother’s - Mother’s birthday.)
She weighed 7Lbs, 7oz and was 20in long at birth.
She scowls at Jared like a pirate.
We feel incredibly blessed and are truly thankful for all of your thoughts and prayers over the last few months. Thank you. And although it might take longer than we might like, we look forward to introducing her to you.
